It was a lot of fun and I only pipped mini-somnambulist I to the gold because, against all the odds, the form book, and to everyone's astonishment, I didn't come last on the Singstar Playstation game. Wonders never cease.
Anyway, we are busy cooking up the rules for the Winter Olympiad this xmas, dans les Alpes Vaudoises...
can't believe I played my Joker on Hotel and came last...

what's Rumis?
@nursey - Great board game. Kindly introduced to us one xmas by some lovely friends, who then unkindly thrashed us at it until we asked them to leave. Very simple to grasp, but trickier to master. The website claims it was inspired by Incan architecture. If that's true then I can only assume that the Incans were inspired by Tetris. http://www.rumis.co.uk/
Why am I thinking 'anal retentive'? [which I've always considered a good thing BTW - what's the alternative 'anal let-it-all-go'? - nasty!]
HandyHint:-I found the best way not to come last on Singstar is to get the 80s tracks one.. the litle nippers don't know the songs and you can sing along to tunes of your youth (albeit out of tune but in rhythm watching the bars across the screen).....
@dp - Nice to know I can start your day off thinking about @rses. It's never too early to indoctrinate the mini-somnambulists. You WILL use Microsoft Excel. Stay away from the Applevangelists. Etc...
We were going to include "Cheat" but mini-somnam II has a tendency to say "hmm I can't go." so it's a bit too easy...
Ah, a kindred spreadsheet spirit ... not everyone can appreciate the beauty of gridlike order ;-)
Sounds like fun was had by all, though the thought of you singing is fairly worrying. How traumatised was the muttley?
p.s. Apple!
I have no idea what you're talking about. All I can say is, I'm pretty competitive too! LOL!
somnambulist, you have to introduce your family to mah jongg - it's the coolest game ever.
very easy to learn and aesthetically beautiful, totally addictive. I defy anyone who takes it up not to start haunting ebay lusting after the different sets available
I'd kill for a chocolate bakelite set
Its not only DP that starts his day thinking about @rses due to you... Since that fateful day you hired me, every working day I walk into our MSIB and think "@rse" ;)
Did a noted wordsmith such as yourself lose at Scrabble to Mini II?? That's the only result that caught my eye!! Shame on you! hahahah
Sorry for slow replies. Blame Dennis.
@70s - brilliant! I will scour the local spielzeug shop for an 80s version as a suprise joker for the xmas winter olympics :-))
@tango - I knew you would understand.
@lazy - He spent the whole event under the sofa, with paws over his ears {|op );
@Jay - think games compendium, mayhem, gold medals and excel spreadsheets. Does that help?!
@nursey - Mah jong! What a great idea.. perfect xmas pressie, thanks :-)
@udh - ahhh.. I'm not sure who you are referring to but it sounds serious and I think we should get to the bottom of it.
@bambam - Mini-som II did indeed win the scrabble event. The house rules are doctored somewhat to try to adjust for a range of vocabularies, but it was pretty humiliating nonetheless. I'll get him on the slalom...
"Relax, don't do it, when you wanna get to it......" or even "wake me up before you go-go". Hehe, I know when my joker's being played - thanks 70's!
@SA - I'd be interested to hear the Holly Johnson impersonation. Personally, I will be looking for The Clash - "Should I stay or should I go..." ;-)
Hee hee sa.... it is great .. a word of warning though, victory doesn't take long to slip though your fingers, they are sharp kids these days... live the glory whilst you can lol
@70s - My thoughts exactly. It won't be long before they are whipping us at everything, so give 'em a good thrashing while you have the chance ;-)
