Doom Bar

Doom Bar is a deliciously moreish ale that they serve in Cornwall. It is the perfect tipple for enjoying with long-lost family and friends.

Sharp's Brewery says:

"Doom Bar Bitter is named after an infamous sandbank at the mouth of the Camel Estuary in north Cornwall. The Doom bar is at its most dangerous between low and high tides when it is submerged by just a few feet. Unsuspecting mariners can easily become stranded or in extreme weather shipwrecked.Doom Bar Bitter embodies many characteristics which makes it worthy to carry the name of this natural wonder. It's distinctive aroma and very fine balance sets it truly apart from other beers taking unsuspecting first time drinkers by surprise with its moreish appeal. Doom Bar has achieved an international cult status, is considered one of the fastest growing beer brands in the UK and is the best selling locally produced beer in the entire South West region."

Somnambuist says:

"Impossible to stop drinking when having a good time. Probably best to stick to a gallon or two on the first try."

I assume you're making some space in the spaceship to bring a keg back for those of us who appreciate good beer (Sparkly Aph won't mind losing an outfit or two, or perhaps the cow could be left in a Cornish pasture when the trip is over). Being a Midlander I am from the home of good bitters but recall my local country pub having many a great Cornish guest ale and indeed my all time favourite was one from Bodmin (the name escapes but will return once I destress from the journey back from Spain with a couple of yucky local Bitburgers ;))

Errr just realised that it kinda sounded like I called Sparkly Aph a cow there! I WAS referring to the brown bovine pictured a few days ago though. Don't know how to a blushing smiley so you get :-p

hahaha I am sure that Sparkly Aph will see the funny side, UDH Boy. Either that or watch out for spiked fairy cakes ;-)

DP I never had you down as a Guinness drinker. Somehow I have this mental image of you supping on a Bishop's Finger...
