Half-Term

The mini-somnambulists are back! Back in August I predicted that the little sausages would probably return bigger, stronger and smellier. Man was I right.

What I didn't predict was how events would have (or even could have) unfolded in the world since then. Financial crisis, Lehmans failure, the end of the Investment banks, the PRAT package, Gordon Brown's return from the dead, Iceland, Hungary, general asset-price destruction... all in just a few short weeks.

As amazing as the speed and scope of all this is, not everybody's world has been turned upside down. The under-exercised-hairy-one, for instance, couldn't care a jot about all that, and is just over the moon to have his brothers back in town {:op
Crisis! What crisis?

You have more snow than we do. I'm jealous.
They are getting big, apparently time does that.

You could turn them upside down ..... but they'd probably just laugh - kids are like that ......

@lazy - actually that's not real snow. We had to borrow some from a previous half-term...

@DP - it would work with mini-somnabulist I. You can forget turning mini-somnambulist II upside down without the assistance of heavy lifting equipment (I'm not sure where he acquired the Lawrence Dallaglio gene from. Unless of couse... naaah).

It's amazing how resistant kids and dogs are to global crises, isn't it?

So long as the family still functions, the food is still on the table and their toys don't disappear they're just fine. And yes, I've notice how much the dogs LOVE to have the 'missing monkeys' back. Our kids are grown up and left home and the dogs go delirious with joy when they visit.

I predict an upside-down snowball fight ... :-)

While you are playing in the schnee, I have been looking through our files for your WBC application. Perhaps you have not included the appropriate bribe? I shall check with the Colonel and confirm your status on the Internet immediately.

Yours efficiently,
Frau von Sauertraut

@Jay - there is clearly a lesson here for all of us 'older, wiser' monkeys.

@tnb - my favourite kind! We are already getting ready for holiday season in the mountains, which promises to be a snow-ball riot :-))

@Frau von Sauertraut - I shall review the application submission processes and those repsonsible for this calamitous error will be shot.

p.s. you weren't giving people orders on a golf course near Krefeld yesterday by any chance? Just a thought...
