Phriday Photo XVIII

I live in the disappointed generation. When we were kids there was no doubt that by the close of the 20th Century robots would be in the home, we would whizz around in flying cars, and Space 1999 was at least equal parts documentary and science fiction. All we got was the Internet.

At least the chaps at Moller International are keeping the Thunderbirds dream alive...

@70s - It's been and gone. Did you not notice the shell-suit craze?

McDonald's aside, I can think of SOME people I wouldn't mind seeing in skin-tight flares ;-)

That is yet another example of councils wasting public money on leaf blowers .......

what shell suits are 'out'?? OMG when did that happen? lol :-)

mmmmm...maybe you should list your top 10 lycra/spandex wearing favourites...?

I'll wear lycra for you baby :-)

@DP - Councils have to waste public money on something, otherwise, what's the point...?

@70s - One of the features of the upcoming Project Dennis is that you and I, and anyone else who is interested, will be able to create just such a list. How much fun will that be? :-)))

@nursey - And straight in at NUMBER 1... !!! :-)

Oh, come on! That's a bit harsh, isn't it? When you were a kid did you ever imagine mobile phones? I didn't, but maybe I'm older than you! LOL!

Digital cameras, satellite TV and satellite phones, video conferences, touch-control ceramic induction hobs (I tell you, I feel I'm living the Star Trek dream in my kitchen!) and let's not forget velcro.

As for Space 1999, we in this house refer to it always as 'Space Nineteen ninety-nine-nine', in honour of One who Didn't Know When to Stop with the Nines. ROFL!

@Jay - Hmmm ok, I'll give you velcro, but that's it. Mobile phones had been invented on Star Trek in the '60s and the rest have really not made a fundamental difference to our lives in the way that flying to work on a space station in lycra flares would. Bring on 19999. :-))
