Downsizing

We said a sad farewell to the Somnambulistic Mothership last week. It had served us well, happily transporting us around Europe, up snowy Alp, along endless autobahn and down winding Cornish country lane on many occasions. But.. there's a credit crunch, the steering wheel was on the wrong side, and most importantly, people thought we were German.

So we've put the record straight on that by downsizing to something old and British. Not, unfortunately, a Supermarine Spitfire but a Land Rover Freelander. It makes funny noises, drinks engine coolant like a Glaswegian nightclub owner, shudders between 19 and 26 mph, and won't stop the sneers from the ecomentalcyclists. However, it should put a stop to people giving us straight-arm salutes with their fingers under their noses.
From mothership to lifeboat (only slower)

I often pretend to be German if I've got myself into a 'difficult' position - I hope you've made the right decision .......

Good heavens ... why did you buy a Landrover! There are so many, so much nicer 4x4s around!

Still, people will definitely know you're not German! LOL!

@DP - I'd be fascinated to hear the extent of your teutonic vocabulary.

@Jay - Opportunity to own something nicer sacrificed at Dennis' altar. Let's hope it's worth it! :-))

Dennis will definitely be worth the downsize, I have no doubts......and it gets 2 sets of clubs and 2 trolleys in the back plus a muddy pawed under excercised one ..... who needs anything else X:-)

Oops, sorry bout the typo "exercised" and I am currently "in cognito" under Muttley's sign on!!

As someone who hasn't ever driven, that post went over my head, completely!

@Muttley - We got the "Buttlander" especially for you, so you can poke your head out the back window down country lanes ;-)

@laog - Which means you have probably never been the victim of automobile value depreciation. I could have retired by now if I'd never owned a car...!
